Donations

We obtain funds through churches, Lions Clubs, Rotary Clubs, host families, and friends who care. Monetary donations cover the cost of approximately $950 per child for airfare, visa fees, and insurance, as well as the cost for at least one adult chaperone to care for the children during their journey and to help host families. Additional donations are gladly accepted of clothes, shoes, and specific over the counter medicine. We can use your help with our projects and activities, too!

In addition to hosting a child or contributing funds, we could use your help in so many other ways...

Hosting

• Serve as a day or relief host
• Host the Belarus chaperone for a week or two

Organization

Help with publicity Write an article Make a poster Collect and sort clothes for the clothes closet Start an audio/visual (cassette, video, dvd, cd) library Prepare a welcome bag or bag for the trip home

Activities

Help with the Welcome Pot Luck Organize and run one group activity Take a child to church Plan a trip to King’s Dominion Take kids to: the movies, zoo, Washington, DC, Mt. Vernon, bowling, miniature golfing Host a picnic, pool party, unbirthday party, or ice cream party Take kids swimming or to a water park Help with the Farewell Dinner

Fund raising and donation

• Donate money
• Recruit people/organizations who will donate goods/services
• Provide a haircut
• Drive to the dentist or an activity
• Pay for an amusement park ticket
• Contribute good used toys
• Provide baseball caps
• Provide scrapbooks or photo albums
• Loan us: bicycles, roller blades, helmets, video games and videotapes or DVDs
