“ANNANDALE AMERICAN LEGION POST 1976 WILL HONOR VETERANS INTERRED IN OUR CEMETERY ON MEMORIAL DAY. On Monday, May 26, at 9:00 AM, American Legion Post 1976 will make a Memorial Day tribute to veterans buried in the AUMC Cemetery with the placement of an American Flag at each veteran gravesite. Members of the congregation and the community are invited to participate. For your Memorial Day observance consider a stroll through the cemetery to observe the gravesites of veterans and others who constitute the founding families of our church. Following the ceremony in our cemetery, at 11:00 AM, Post 1976 will conduct a community observance at the Cannon in the triangle at the intersection of Columbia Pike and Backlick Road. The gathering there will be addressed by RADM (Ret) Dan McKinnon immediate past President of the Annandale Chamber of Commerce.”
