Extended Day Program

The AUMC Early Learning Program [ELP] offers 3-year-old and 4-year-old preschool children an Extended Day Program until 2:30PM. The Extended Day classes run September through May on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in any configuration that best fits your child’s morning preschool schedule. The extended day offers parents the convenience of a longer day, and coordinates with the Early Learning Program’s hours.

When WPS dismisses at 12:00PM, children are escorted from their preschool classroom to their Extended Day classroom. After a busy morning in preschool, the children in the Extended Day Program will enjoy a more leisurely and relaxed atmosphere.

The children eat lunch together (which you send from home), relax for a short rest/story time period, then have fun in interest area choice time and outdoor recess. The children are dismissed at 2:30PM.

 

LATE DAY PROGRAM

ELP also offers Weekday Preschoolers a Late Day option until 5:30PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. These classes are also held September through May. Children will enjoy an afternoon snack, an art or science activity, interest area choice time, and outdoor play. Parents may pick children up at any point in the afternoon by 5:30PM.

 

2011-12 Tuition:

Tuition for Extended Day and Late Day classes is due on the first class day of each month. Since these programs are administered by the Early Learning Program, checks are to be made out to AUMC ELP (not WPS please!). Always include your child’s name on your check.

 

*Please note that the tuition prices for the 2012-13 school year will be published after being voted upon by the AUMC Weekday Child Development Committee on February 6, 2012. The current school year tuition rates are posted below.

  • Extended Day for WPS Children (12:00PM - 2:30PM) 
       

     1 day per week    

    $108 per month     

     2 days per week  

      $216 per month     

    3 days per week

      $324 per month     

           
  • Late Day for WPS Children (2:30PM - 5:30PM) 

  •  1 day per week

      $130 per month    

      2 days per week

      $260 per month    

      3 days per week

      $390 per month    

           

Discount:

There is a 15% discount for siblings also enrolled in the Early Learning Program. 

 

Registration Fee:
There is an annual non-refunadable registration fee, payabe only upon placement in the program.

                                      *$50 per family

 

*This fee is waived if there are already siblings enrolled in any of the other the ELP programs.

Inclement Weather Policy:   

The Early Learning Program follows the exact calling of Fairfax County Public Schools in cases of school closures and delayed openings during inclement weather. If there is an early dismissal, ALL Extended Day and Late Day programs, close at 12:30PM.
